Video Splitter

Split videos locally in your browser using time markers or fixed intervals, preview segments, and export at original quality or a chosen resolution.

How to use

Split videos locally in your browser using time markers or fixed intervals, preview segments, and export at original quality or a chosen resolution.

Steps

  1. Choose or drop videos and select the file to process from the list.
  2. Position the timeline and add markers, or apply an automatic split interval. Check each segment’s start and end.
  3. Choose export quality and export segments. The first export loads video processing components; keep the page open.

Supported formats

Add video files recognized by your browser, commonly MP4, MOV or WebM. Original quality keeps the source extension; 480p, 720p and 1080p modes output MP4.

Files and privacy

Video files are read and processed locally without being uploaded. First use of the processing components may download program resources over the network.

Limitations

  • Each video can be up to 2 GB. Practical capacity also depends on device memory and codec compatibility.
  • Original quality uses stream copying, so cut positions may depend on keyframes and are not guaranteed to be frame-exact. Choosing a resolution re-encodes video, takes longer and may change quality.
  • Switching videos requires adding markers again. Check the active file and segment list before exporting.

Frequently asked questions

How does original quality differ from a chosen resolution?

Original quality copies media streams without re-encoding where possible. Resolution modes re-encode as MP4. Copying is faster but cuts depend on encoding structure; re-encoding takes more time.

Why does the first export take time to start?

The page must load browser-based video processing components before processing files. Large videos and re-encoding also increase processing time.
