Live Photo Composer

Trim a video, choose a cover, and create a Google Motion Photo for Android locally in your browser.

How to use

Trim a video, choose a cover, and create a Google Motion Photo for Android locally in your browser.

Steps

  1. Choose From a video, or use Photo + video to upload a separate cover.
  2. Drag the timeline to select a 3–10 second clip, adjustable to 0.1 seconds. In video mode, drag the cover marker to choose a frame.
  3. Choose quality and whether to keep audio. Original quality keeps the dimensions. Medium and Low limit the longest edge to 1080 and 720 pixels, without upscaling.
  4. Select Compose, then download the MP.jpg and open it in a compatible gallery.

Supported formats

Use browser-playable video, preferably H.264 MP4. Separate covers support JPG, PNG, and WebP. Export MP.jpg with H.264 video and optional AAC audio.

Files and privacy

Media stays in your browser and is never uploaded. First use downloads processing components; site analytics exclude media contents.

Limitations

  • Videos: up to 100 MB; covers: up to 20 MB. Clips must be at least 3 seconds. On phones, try a short video at Low quality and keep the page open.
  • Only Google Motion Photo for Android is supported, not Apple Live Photo or other Android vendor formats. Recognition depends on the gallery and import method. Results are not previewed on this page.
  • Video uses 30 fps and 8-bit pixels, without HDR tone mapping; SDR input is recommended. Separate covers are center-cropped, transparency becomes white, and original capture metadata is removed.
  • Changing inputs or settings clears previous results. Download files you want to keep first.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the export a JPG?

MP.jpg contains a JPEG cover and MP4 video. Ordinary viewers may only show the cover; use a Google Motion Photo-compatible gallery to see motion.

Is Original quality lossless?

No. It keeps video dimensions but re-encodes the clip as high-quality H.264 at 30 fps with 8-bit pixels. Medium and Low can reduce resolution and file size.

What if composition fails?

Check network access for processing components, then retry with a smaller H.264 MP4 at Low quality. Convert videos your browser cannot preview first.
