Image Collector

Collect web images by right-clicking or scanning a page with this Chrome extension. Preview selections and download them in batches.

How to use

Collect web images by right-clicking or scanning a page with this Chrome extension. Preview selections and download them in batches.

Steps

  1. Get image-collector.zip from the release page, extract it, and keep the folder.
  2. Open chrome://extensions/, enable Developer mode, select Load unpacked, choose the folder containing manifest.json, and pin the extension icon.
  3. Right-click an image and choose Collect image. Open Collection list from the extension icon to view it.
  4. Scroll to load images, then open Parse page or enter a page URL. Select images and choose Add selected.
  5. Preview and select images to download. Set folders and URL parameters under More features; check progress in Chrome downloads.
  6. Before updating, export a JSON backup under More features. Replace the extension folder, reload it, and refresh its pages. Import the backup if needed.

Supported formats

Collects HTTP(S) image links without converting formats. Batch downloads save separate files. JSON backs up links and settings, not images.

Files and privacy

Links and settings stay in your browser, without server upload or cloud sync. Scanning, previews, size checks, and downloads access the source sites. This website uses Google Analytics for visits and download link clicks.

Limitations

  • Currently supports manual installation in desktop Chrome only, without phone installation. Browser internal pages and pages that disallow extension access cannot be parsed normally.
  • Page parsing detects loaded HTTP(S) img images at least 120 pixels wide and high. CSS backgrounds, Canvas, data: images, and blob: images are not supported.
  • Scroll long pages to load images before parsing. Refresh candidates displays the previous parse results and does not rescan the current page.
  • Right-click collection does not verify that the target is an image and may save other links at non-image locations. Deduplication uses the full URL rather than image contents, so different links to the same image may be collected separately.
  • The list and JSON store image links rather than original image copies. Expired, removed, or restricted links may fail to preview or download, and file sizes may be unknown.
  • Download URL parameters default to format=jpg&name=large and replace the original query string. For ordinary images or signed links that fail, clear More features → URL parameters to retain the original link. This parameter setting is not local format conversion.

Frequently asked questions

Are batch downloads a ZIP?

No. Each selected image starts a separate download, with year-month folders or a configured subfolder. Starting a download does not confirm a response from the source or a completed save to disk; check Chrome download history.

Does exporting JSON back up the images?

No. JSON backs up collected links and settings, without image files. Download the images themselves to retain them. Importing JSON cannot recover originals after their source links expire.

Why does a download fail or show an unknown file size?

The source may restrict access, the link may expire, or the file size may be unreadable. The default format=jpg&name=large parameters can also affect ordinary images or signed links; clear URL parameters and retry.

Why does refreshing candidates show no new images after scrolling?

Refresh candidates reads the previous parse cache. Scroll the target page to load images, then parse the page again from the extension icon to obtain new candidates.
