Image Metadata Cleaner

Remove photo metadata, GPS, and AI parameters from JPG, PNG, and WebP locally. Download individual images or a ZIP.

How to use

Remove photo metadata, GPS, and AI parameters from JPG, PNG, and WebP locally. Download individual images or a ZIP.

Steps

  1. Choose or drop images. Use the info button to view source metadata.
  2. Files use anonymous numbers by default. Enable Keep original filenames to retain their names.
  3. Select Start cleaning. You can cancel processing or retry failed images.
  4. Check the cleaned metadata, then download images or completed results as a ZIP.

Supported formats

Supports static JPG, PNG, and WebP, keeping format, displayed dimensions, and orientation. PNG and WebP keep transparency. Batch results can be saved as a ZIP.

Files and privacy

Images stay in your browser; originals are never uploaded or modified. Anonymous filenames help remove personal details from file names.

Limitations

  • Up to 50 images per batch, 20 MB per file, and 100 MB of source files in total. Images are limited to 8192 pixels per edge and 32 million pixels total.
  • Cleaned results are limited to 256 MB in total. Download and remove completed images before continuing if you reach this limit.
  • GIF, HEIC, and animated images are unsupported. Large batches use device memory; keep the page open.
  • Images are re-encoded as sRGB, removing ICC profiles. JPG and WebP use the highest quality, but colors or quality may change, especially with wide-gamut or HDR input. PNG pixels may also change.
  • Only embedded metadata is removed. Visible watermarks, text, and people remain.

Frequently asked questions

What metadata is removed?

EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, comments, AI prompts and generation parameters, and original color profiles.

Will quality or orientation change?

Format, displayed dimensions, transparency, and correct orientation are retained. Re-encoding may affect quality or color; keep your originals and check the results.

Why do filenames change?

Source names may contain personal names, locations, or dates. Enable Keep original filenames if needed. Duplicate names in a ZIP receive sequence numbers.

Are originals modified or uploaded?

No. New files are generated locally in your browser for download.
