Batch Rename

Rename images in batches using a prefix and increasing numbers, preview the filenames, and download a ZIP while keeping original image contents.

How to use

Rename images in batches using a prefix and increasing numbers, preview the filenames, and download a ZIP while keeping original image contents.

Steps

  1. Choose images or a folder, or drop files, and check the list.
  2. Enter a filename prefix, or leave it blank for numbers only, then generate filenames.
  3. Check the names starting at 001 and download the ZIP. Regenerate names after changing the prefix.

Supported formats

Choose images or an image folder. Preserve the original image bytes and extensions and export renamed copies as ZIP.

Files and privacy

Files are read and packaged in your current browser without uploading images or renaming originals on disk.

Limitations

  • Prefixes allow up to 30 characters. Numbers start at 001 and file extensions are retained.
  • Folder selection depends on browser support. Selecting multiple individual images is also available.
  • Packaging many files uses memory. Save the ZIP before closing the page.

Frequently asked questions

Does it compress or convert my images?

Images are not re-encoded. The tool gives image copies new names inside a ZIP while retaining image contents and formats.

Will filenames in my original folder change?

No. Download and extract the ZIP to obtain copies with the new names.
