Audio Extractor
Extract MP3, M4A, or WAV audio from videos, mute videos, or export audio and silent video separately. Files stay in your browser.
How to use
Extract MP3, M4A, or WAV audio from videos, mute videos, or export audio and silent video separately. Files stay in your browser.
Steps
- Add one or more local videos by dropping them or choosing files.
- Choose extract audio, mute video, or separate audio and video, then set the audio format and bitrate.
- Select Start processing. The processing engine loads on first use, so keep this page open.
- Download each result separately or package all results as a ZIP.
Supported formats
Input common MP4, MOV, WebM, and MKV videos. Audio exports as MP3, M4A, or WAV. Silent video keeps the source container, usually MP4, MOV, WebM, or MKV.
Files and privacy
Video reading, audio extraction, video stream copy, and ZIP packaging run in your current browser. Files are not uploaded to a server. The processing engine may download its program files on first use.
Limitations
- Up to 1 GB per video and 20 videos per batch. Actual limits depend on device memory and browser support.
- Container and codec support depends on the browser and FFmpeg. Encrypted or damaged files cannot be processed.
- Mute and separate copy the video stream without re-encoding. Output keeps the source container, falling back to MKV when needed.
- For videos with multiple audio tracks, the first track is used. AI vocal and instrumental separation is not provided.
- Keep the page open for large files and batches. Files that were not finished after cancellation must be processed again.
Frequently asked questions
What does separate audio and video produce?
Two files: the extracted audio and a silent video that keeps the original picture.
Are videos uploaded?
No. Video reading, audio extraction, and ZIP packaging run locally in your browser. Only processing engine resources may be downloaded on first use.
Why is there no audio in the result?
The source video may not have an audio track, or its audio codec may be unsupported. Try another video or inspect the source file.
Can it remove vocals and keep only the instrumental?
No. This tool separates the audio track from the picture. It does not perform AI vocal or instrumental separation.
Which audio format should I choose?
MP3 has the widest compatibility. M4A usually produces smaller files. WAV is lossless but much larger.
Is the silent video re-encoded?
No. The video stream is copied without re-encoding, which is faster and preserves the original picture quality. The container may change to MKV when the source container is not suitable.
