Save original AI images with the AI Image Export extension

Learn which platforms AI Image Export supports, how to install it, how to save one image or a batch, and what to know about watermarks, formats, and privacy.

AI Image Export is a desktop browser extension for saving generated images that are already loaded in an AI chat page. It is designed for organizing assets on a computer; it is not a mobile tool, an upscaler, or an image repair tool.

Supported platforms

It currently works with chat and share pages on Qwen and Doubao. The extension only extracts original images that the page exposes publicly. If the platform does not provide an original, it cannot be exported. Watermarks in the original image remain.

Chrome 116 or later is recommended. Edge can load the extension, but it has not been fully tested.

Install the extension

  1. Download the extension ZIP from the AI Image Export page.
  2. Unzip it and keep the whole folder. Do not drag a single file into the browser.
  3. Open the extensions management page and enable Developer mode.
  4. Choose Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.
  5. Refresh any open AI chat or share page so the extension can take effect.

Export images

  1. Open a chat or share page that contains images and wait for them to load.
  2. Click Export originals in the lower-right corner of the page.
  3. Select the images you need in the panel. You can download one image, download them one by one, or pack them into a ZIP.
  4. Closing the panel does not stop an export that has already started.

If there are many images, scroll up first so older images load, then scan again. The extension can only see content that is already loaded on the current page.

What to keep in mind

  • An original can still have a watermark. The extension does not remove platform watermarks, regenerate images, or repair them.
  • Platform changes can affect detection. If a platform changes how images are loaded, the extension may need an update.
  • Do not update or quit the browser during an export. Batch jobs depend on the current page; refreshing or closing it may interrupt the job.
  • The extension works with the current page only. It does not read your chat history or upload images. Exported files stay on your computer.

Frequently asked questions

Why are no images found?

Make sure the platform is enabled in the extension, then refresh the page. Older images need to be scrolled into view. After installing or updating the extension, refresh the page before trying again.

Can I export videos or files?

No. This extension only handles generated images on the page, not videos, documents, or other attachments.

Can I install it on a phone?

No. It is a desktop Chrome and Edge extension; mobile browsers cannot load it.

Are the images original quality?

The extension extracts the original file provided by the page and does not recompress it. The actual quality and format depend on the platform. If the platform only provides a preview, a higher-quality original cannot be exported.

Suggested workflow

Treat the extension as an asset organizer, not a bulk scraper. Check how you plan to use an image and follow the platform's terms. Keep source information where needed, and review the image for personal information before sharing it.
